Unique twist of a full meal located in industrial area of Portland, Oregon. I ordered Shrimp Rice Bowl. My better half was extra hungry so he chose Fried Chicken Bowl and Spicy Chicken Miso with Chicken Sausage.
We scored street metered parking in front of eatery during non-peak hours between a late lunch and early dinner. First, order and pay for your meal(s). Then, worker will bring your meal(s) to your table.
Shrimp Rice Bowl: My tongue could taste sweet, sour, salty, spicy, tangy, cold, and heat hot. Veggies, protein and carbs all in one meal. One bowl sufficed my appetite for the day and rest of the evening. Not kidding!
Fried Chicken Bowl: I tried a spoonful from my husband's meal. Loved how dollop of creaminess provided a subtle balance and calmness to kim chee and pickles.
Spicy Chicken Miso with Chicken Sausage seemed ideal for a consumer craving for elevated heat and plethora of spices. That's exactly what we got! Everything in this dish fulfilled our appetite.
We enjoyed the fresh ingredients, seasonings and spices. Ideal for the adventurer and seeker! -

This is a place where you will want to eat almost everything on the plate. Even though you probably haven't seen most of the food on the plate. Plus, it's all really healthy and great the temple that is your body.
One of the numerous dishes I would recommend is the tofu plate. Witch comes with mushrooms that have an amazing flavor. The tofu itself is incredible and combined with the other things on the plate it's even better. If you had a bad dish here it's probably because you didn't didn't get the right one for you. -

This place is great but a close reminder of fellow ramen joint Afuri. Another hipster ramen place packed full of flavor! A little on the salty side for the broth in my flavor book, but overall a really great place. My favorite was the Shanghai dumplings--whoa-- sweet and tangy along with the traditional dumpling flavors. I especially liked the steamed buns. I opted for the pork belly ones and they were absolutely delish, by far my favorite item. I loved their house made picked cucumbers--very very good actually. It gave the steamed buns a kick! The ramen was good, even my son loved it!!!

The theme of this restaurant should be called "sour" because they really pile on the pickled vegetables here. If you order a rice bowl, expect majority of the dish to be pickled veggies.
Boke Bowl is located in the Eastside Industrial District on SE Water Avenue and SE Taylor Street. We ordered our food to-go:
- Fried Chicken Rice Bowl $12
They know how to fry their chicken, it was perfectly crunchy and juicy! Too bad they only give you a few small pieces. However, they are very generous with the pickled vegetables.
- Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Rice Bowl $13
This is passable, and I would not recommend ordering unless dry chicken is your thing.
- Fried Chicken Steam Buns $11
Probably the best dish out of the bunch.
- Pork Belly Steam Buns $11
This fell short. The meat and bread ratio were off. All I tasted was mostly bread. Pass!
NOTE: There's a 50 cents fee for takeout orders. And their food is not meant to be reheated because it tastes like crap when you do. Would not recommend and would not go back. Save yourself the trouble and eat somewhere else. -

$15.00 for pork ramen bowl
- $1.25 for Cup of Noodles
=$13.75 for hipster atmosphere
So worth it!
